Teddy Abrams made his Tanglewood debut leading the Boston Symphony Orchestra in an event curated by Yo-Yo Ma, entitled “We The People: An American Journey.” Special guests included Ma, James Taylor, and Jon Batiste, with appearances by Heather Cox Richardson and Bryan Stevenson. Composers Brent Michael Davids (Indigenous/Undigenous II - Lenape) and Julia Wolfe (Liberty Bell) were present as well.

The performance closed with Batiste leading an encore of We Shall Overcome by Tindley, arranged by composer Nicholas Urie, with Abrams conducting the BSO.
